Hello again! We are finally in beautiful Biolley and loving it! Because the village is nestled in the Costa Rican mountains, we are now surrounded by starfruit trees, sugar cane, pineapple plants, cows and horses. It is a nice change from the busy streets of San Jose. We were first welcomed by all of Biolley during our bienvenidos party, and since then this place has felt like home. Our days are filled with equal amounts of fun and service here. We are definitely getting our hands dirty by laying water pipes, mixing cement, clearing brush, and doing whatever else possible to assist the kind people of ASOMOBI. We also help our wonderful chef prepare our meals, taking turns to each learn the secrets of great Costa Rican cooking. The rest of our time is spent exploring the area, teaching games to kids, learning Spanish, doing crafts and getting closer as a group. Today we had a fantastic evening playing soccer with a bunch of locals, and then grabbing some snacks at the pulperia (local store) with them. We have a few more days of service before heading to the beach for a 2 day excursion, so check back soon for the next post!
